To: A Strict Constructionist

If the reasonable man, of common law fame, can’t understand it it shouldn’t be made into a law.


What law can’t you understand? I know there are laws we don’t like (such as the tax code) but eliminating lawyers wouldn’t eliminate taxes.

According to most lawyers, all of them. We non members of the bar should not be allowed to interpret anything from the viewpoint of lawyers. From my viewpoint I understand what they say but often disagree with the judges interpretation. The interpretation is usually to the advantage of the lawyers. Ever been involved in a class action suit? Legalized robbery.

I forgot to mention in the previous post that this isn’t remotely related to the original post, except possibley for the point that many legislators are lawyers. In that case eliminating lawyers would probably help the tax code which is written to obscure not make clear.
