If by NO ONE you mean Obama, then the NY Times says indeed Obama wanted the nearly assassinated freshly minted VP of Egypt to be Mubarak's successor.
Small problem with Obama's plan: under the Egyptian constitution, the head of parliament is the presidential successor, not the VP.
