Yes but that person wasn’t brain dead.
There has never, ever been a case a someone who’s been declared brain dead according to the American Academy of Neurology’s criteria coming back. That means having a flat EEG, waiting 24 hours, having a still flat EEG, and a negative cerebral blood flow scan.
By then of course your brain has already started to rot a bit but no harm in making sure.
I’m glad they use EEG’s. As someone that was in a como and had last rites given to me I’m glad they routinely run the test.
