Rahm gone, 'bam off the leash: "Rahm’s Departure...Reset Obama White House" Nation
The Nation ^ | September 30, 2010 | Ari Berman

Posted on 02/05/2011 10:45:05 AM PST by tsomer

"...As I wrote in a Nation blog earlier this month, Rahm's exit is a good thing for Obama and a necessary first step in the much-needed shakeup of his White House. Rahm alone wasn't solely responsible for diluting Obama's unique outsider brand, but he was a major contributing factor. After all, throughout his career in politics, Rahm has been at odds with the very grassroots activists who propelled Obama to the White House and made his campaign so unique. ..."

Seems like most of the 'bam resignations were seasoned politicos-- more pragmatic, practical, and mindful (compared to the rest of that bunch) of voter's wishes.

Rahm exemplifies this part of the administration. Now they're gone and it looks like 'bam's off his moorings, floating further from land towards his heart's deepest desires.

I wondered at the time what might result. Do you think recent events-- betraying the Brits, fomenting Muslim revolt, oil moratoriums, etc. reflect the un-caged 'bam on the prowl?

Fahck Rahm.

This also goes for Chicago for electing this puke. I'll never go back there ever again - never spend a cent there ever.

Yeah, Daley came as quite a kick in the pants to this hypothesis. It does expose the writer as an absolute blithering idiot, though.

“Obama’s unique outsider brand”

This idiotic statement is all you need to know about the quality of the thinking that went into this article.

It was amazing to read a few comments below..The first one was glad to be rid of Rahm because he was a Hard rightist that was able to be elected as a republican?

These people are so delusional, with out an ounce of reasoning..It never fails to shock and depress me.

Barry’s special relationship with Rahm was constituted during many hours of horseplay in their gay, Chicago bathhouse. That won’t be easy for Barry to replace, and the notion that Rahm isestablishment to Barry’s independence is asinine, a product of the writer drinking too much leftnut swill. They are two filthy punks in a pod.

Cut off the food and fuel supply to these Marxists, then banish them to the Alaskan wilderness. Let’s see how long they would last without someone taking care of them. They are a prime example of how universities screw up our youth.

The Obama White House and the Nation. The only two places on the planet Rahm Emanuel could be considered a moderate.

...the writer as an absolute blithering idiot...

No doubt, but beside the point; he's representative of the 'bam core constituency.

The thing that concerns me is, it seems to me 'bam's lurched way left since the old guard moved on. Only the rabid, fringe, or the harmless ineffectual remain. Maybe Daley belongs to the latter group.

My take the ones gone were the pragmatists: they got him elected, they got his stim and 'bam-care bill voted in, helped him nationalize student loans, etc. While there, they were the brake fluid in 'bam's bull-dozer. Why did they leave? Or more to the point, why didn't 'bam try harder to keep them on.

Yes, I never dreamed I'd say Rahm-boy was pragmatic, but compared to 'bam, he is.

Rahm-boy is a mere crook; 'bam is something else entirely.

bam is something else entirely.

I think the ostentatious flouting of the Vinson ruling on Obamacare gives us a pretty good idea of what he is. It should be his moment akin to FDR's packing the court.

Is this what you’re talking about?:
http://newsflavor.com/opinions/the-ulsterman-report-valerie-jarretts-plans-for-obama-in-2011/

Not sure how credible Ulsterman is. He predicted ‘bam’s crackup was imminent. That didn’t happen; maybe somebody read the post and got ‘bam the medication he needed?

I don’t know enough about this snapping turtle to tell.

But if she is, then I have have a warm feeling, and not at all fuzzy.

Thanks for the tip.

yes it was. It makes sense to me. I have read ulsterman for a while. Asked quite a few times the credibility of the reports, but no one really has a definitive answer on that.

It seems to me that obama is really worried about his re-election though more so than anything. Understanding that he was briefed on egypt a year ago and still ended up like a deer in the headlights makes me think that someone must be running the show.

Now that Rham is gone .. she seems to be the logical choice in my mind. (not that she can do a good job, but that Obama would put her in charge)

Of course for all I know Ulsterman could just be writing what makes sense without any real insiders at all. I read then rely on Occams razor.
