EARLIMART, Calif. — A Lamont man was killed earlier this week by a chicken.
Jose Luis Ochoa, 35, was stabbed by a knife attached to the leg of a fighting rooster, the Kern County coroner's office said Friday.

Although this breed of rooster hates others of his kind, the Shamo is unusually friendly to humans, often following them around and begging for attention. They sure look intimidating.

Sounds like a cover story. I would guess he got stabbed with something more than a fighting spur.
Far as fighting, I fail to see how it is any more cruel than pulling their heads off and cooking them. Or locking them in an 18 inch square steel cage for a year then killing them.

Seriously, though...if he was stabbed in his lower leg, and died 2 hours later at a hospital...wouldn’t a tourniquet applied on scene or early on have saved his life? We did CPR. We kept at it right up until he finally quit bleeding, but he died anyway. We learned from TV and newspapers that one should always perform CPR on a victim.

I’ve done sheep that way, but the intent was always to eat them.
First Aid is confusing- they keep changing things, like the number of breaths and compressions. I give up. Better get rid of the chickens before someone gets hurt.

Yeah, pumped him out. That is one of my pet peeves with TV/movies and “journalists”; “CPR” is used almost synonymously with “first aid”.
“Plug the leaks, then worry about the pump & aerators”.
