There’s a TV crime drama episode similar to this, just not sure what show I saw it on.

Killed by a bad cock.
(Heard that happened to Liberace, too.)

And you could go blind.
If you can put your cock close enough to your face to put your eye out, youre a remarkable man, and a braver man than I.
Never mind. Don’t you remember kids being told not to masturbate or they would go blind?

Yeah, I know. Sorry about that. I couldn’t resist. See, this is what happens when you break the first two rules of Cockfight Club. The first rule of Cockfight Club is you do not talk about your cock. The second rule of Cockfight Club is you do not talk about your cock.

No, but it should be.
Here in South Carolina there is a huge illegal cockfighting underground.
I’m not a farmer but maybe someone here will do the math. Even I know that if you put two roosters in the same barnyard, they’re gonna fight. That is, until the losing rooster’s instinct tells him it’s time to break off and haul @ss. No razor spurs, no fight to the death, the dominant bird wins and the fight is over.
Fighting cocks are equipped with deadly razors and they fight until one of the opponents is dead. I suppose putting two unequipped birds in the ring and watching the loser run away to maybe fight again another day isn’t as much sport as the lethal contest.
I could be wrong. Thoughts?

Quite strange. Wonder how the calf is doing- doesn’t say whether it was a bull calf or a heifer.
Seriously, though...if he was stabbed in his lower leg, and died 2 hours later at a hospital...wouldn’t a tourniquet applied on scene or early on have saved his life?
Something I’m missing. I wouldn’t think you’d have the blades strapped on unless ready to fight. Test-fit perhaps.
Bad Karma- eventually the chickens come home to roost.

I believe this isn't the first time in the US during the past ten years that a fighting Rooster has killed the handler. Even the TV program, 1000 Ways to Die had a segment about this.

Sounds like Jose must have read that limerick about the man from Nantucket, something lost in translation, tequila probably involved, tragedy ensued.

Same with bulls, stud horses, etc. Setting two animals up to fight on purpose is cruel. They do it in nature, and set a pecking order on the farm, but orchestrating it for sport is wrong.
I know, when I was a kid we did it with roosters, grasshoppers, etc. But, for entertainment or gambling either way, blood sport is evil.

A bird must continue to attack. Many dead birds have won cockfights when the opposing chicken ran.
