U.S. Sen. John McCain won’t be backing former running mate Sarah Palin in the 2012 presidential race.

In fact, McCain told Politico.com he won’t be backing any other candidates as Republicans look to defeat President Barack Obama.

“I think I’m staying out of this for the first time in many years,” McCain told the news website this week.

McCain has always been a shill for “The Divine One.” During the 2012 election he will frequently mention “The Divine One’s” maturing in office etc.

“And after Sarah compromised herself to campaign for Juan against JD.”

That was a very serious lapse in judgement by Palin. Did Jim DeMint campaign for McCain against Hayworth??

I think McCain is hoping to get the VP slot in 2012 if Obama throws Biden under the bus. Obama/McCain might keep enough of the hopey, changey, “can’t we all get along” vote to reelect Obama.

This is good news for Palin.

As far as I'm concerned, McCain was owed a favor after choosing Palin to be his running mate. Palin, therefore, was obligated to support McCain in his reelection as Senator.

It is now "debt paid." McCain owes nothing to Palin, and Palin owes nothing to McCain.

They are both free agents now -- free of each other.

You can bet that by November 2012, McCain will have spoken up on behalf of a candidate. He can’t help himself. He’ll have some half-baked reason how it is not a flip-flop from what he said in January 2011. McCain can’t be trusted.
