I can’t help but think that a gang of anarchists are involved in this. Any time the fires and vandalism start coming out, you know that it isn’t just people wanting to improve things any more - it is people wanting to destroy things.

Pure democracy is not a pretty thing.
That is why we were formed as a Republican Democracy.
We pledge allegiance to the Republic for which we stand, not the democracy (for which no other than the meanest dog is willing to stand toward).
Pure democracy, like all other tyrannical mechanisms, inevitably degenerate into anarchy.
