Gov't supporters take over army vehicles, throw rocks at protesters from surrounding buildings, according to reports; gun shots heard at Tahrir square after protests turn violent; over 100 reported injured.
Pro-Mubarak groups took over three army vehicles and lobbed rocks and other items at anti-government protestors from surrounding buildings, amid clashes that have been raging at Tahrir Square since Wednesday afternoon, Al-Jazeera reported.
Witnesses at Tahrir Square also said they heard several shots fired into the air, according to the report.
Earlier Wednesday, protests in Cairo turned violent, with protesters throwing large rocks at each other as pro-Mubarak demonstrators tore down anti-Mubarak banners that have decorated Tahrir Square for three days. Tanks on the periphery of the square were starting to move in anticipation of unruly crowds.

Actually that would be lobbing rocks BACK at “protesters”. After all, who was burning crap a few days ago?
Its like 1979 in Nicaragua all over again. Given the choice between radical muslims pretending to be democrats, and a corrupt, sitting dictator, I’ll take the dictator.
Give ‘em hell Hosni!
Talk about stupid. These people break into museums and wreck relics.
This is like Detroit in the 60’s. Lets have a riot and burn down our own neighborhood. That will show them.
If they let Iran and the Muslim Brotherhood take over they will be in deeper crap than they are now.
Where's Saddam Hussein when he is needed?

Last I time I checked, Mubarak has not - Invaded 2 of his neighboring countries - Has not launched Missiles against Israel - Declared war against the Great Satan - used poison gas against ethnic minorities in his country On the other hand, Mubarak has - Made open peace with Israel - allows large US influence over his military - keeps Islamists in check - Kept his country open to international trade, tourism and investment
It looks like after Mubarak’s speech he’s not going quietly, and there’s a large number of people that aren’t going to see their country ripped to shreds. They might end up on top in this.
I feel like there’s something else yet that’s going to rear it’s ugly head. This thing isn’t over yet.
You are so right. The left has no problem with dictators, but they prefer dictators who hate the US. If Mubarak was a ME Chavez they would be calling for US intervention to save him. How did we ever get to this place where a large number of our populace actually dislike or outright hate our country? How did we ever get to this place where people who declare themselves communists or admirers of Mao wind up in the administration of the US President? We have let political correctness and pseudo-intellectual zealots push us to the brink of national suicide.
Mubarak’s SEIU equivalent in action.
Or could they be islamists pretending to be supporters of Mubarak just trying to make trouble?
