House GOP Readies Ban on EPA Greenhouse Gas Regulations
Published February 02, 2011

WASHINGTON In a sharp challenge to the Obama administration, House Republicans intend to unveil legislation Wednesday to ban the Environmental Protection Agency from regulating greenhouse gases under the Clean Air Act and expect to advance the bill quickly, officials disclosed Tuesday night.
The officials said the bill would nullify all of the steps the EPA has taken to date on the issue, including a threshold finding that greenhouse gases constitute a danger to the public health and welfare.
In addition, it seeks to strip the agency of its authority to use the law in any future attempts to crack down on the emissions from factories, utilities and other stationary sources.

Amen. Amen. Amen.
Too good to be true!
BTTT
That is OK, they can swim 200 miles at sea, are not stranded on ice flows including cubs and their population is actually increasing. The seal pups they eat are more endangered than they are.
Wow. Elections count! ‘course it’s not a done deal yet. They’re trying to reel back in some line that was cast way too far.
They can swim 200 miles ?
Holy crap, I swam 8 miles once and thought my arms were gonna fall off.
200 miles ?
I’ll believe it when Congress declares CO2 a non pollutant.
“It’s almost difficult to keep up with all this good news. “
Funny, there are a LOT of people on this site that always harp that “there is no difference between the parties” (I’m not saying you, I don’t know either way).
I guess they might be wrong - or trolls.
The key phrase is found in the last line of the excerpt:
"emissions from factories, utilities, and other stationary sources"
The problem they face is trying address only the stationary sources while ignoring the mobile sources. CO2 is CO2, whether is is coming out power plant stack or a tailpipe.
While they are at it, the slow-moving GOP House members should declare an emergency and force the feckless Interior Sec. and Energy Sec. to hearings on why the Obama administration has shut down all domestic oil drilling permits since the Gulf spill in March of last year.
There is no excuse for this blockade of US oil production except that the Marxists in charge want us to switch to wind power, which we see does not work at all in cold weather, and solar, which is too expensive for this crippled economy. This needs to be looked into NOW.
I think it more accurate to say that there is not much difference between the LEADERSHIP of the two parties. The difference is that conservatives have more "leverage" to FORCE the recalcitrant "moderate" Republican leadership to take conservative action. The Dems long ago forced out all conservatives from their bailiwick, so there is no "leverage" available.
Hit ‘em hard, keep it coming.
The EPA is a criminal fascist syndicate operating outside the bounds of common law and the Constitution. The fascist EPA leadership, past and present, needs to be brought before a court of law to answer charges of treason.
The EPA’s actions in Rapanos v US is enough to bring these EPA gestapo agents up on numerous criminal charges. There are other examples.
States need to start passing laws to arrest these bureaucrat outlaws for state-sponsored terrorism.
Wonderful news! This will make a great statement and provide an opportunity to get the word out to more people that the greenhouse gas subject is complete BS.
However, considering the GOP minority in the Senate, and the evil blue-lipped jerk in the White House, can anything actually come of it now?
Boehner is pleasantly surprising me. He may need to be made an Honorary Tea Party Member.
It’s a good start....defunding is next!
