For that matter, look at dogs, an entire sub-species created by human manipulation.
The food may look better, but it tastes worse. I haven’t had an ear of corn that tasted like corn in nearly 20 years. They are syrupy sweet, like canned cream corn of the 1960’s. Tomatoes have no body, all liquid without flavor. Apples last longer, look better but have more meat than juice.
Problems must be defined well. It is not a gmo vs non gmo. It is a centralization vs decentralization problem. Our crops have mostly the same genetic base. The good news is that in good growing weather we have abundance, and in bad we will have a disaster.
For govt, I want 50 strong different state governments, not one strong federal govt or worse yet, world government. Are 50 state government perfect, no. They will still make bad decisions, but they don't affect everyone, only the ones in that state.
What is the problem with centralization? They make general decision which on average are a good idea but don't work with individual situations.
