You’re right...things are better for both sides.
I saw a Catholic school that had formerly had the windows fitted with irons. The irons were gone when I was there.
That, to me, was symbolic of everything else I saw during my visit.
I hope they can raise a generation of kids who haven’t witnessed any violence. If they can do that, they will be okay.

The young people have determined that this was their grandparents’ war, and have started interacting (and intermarrying) as never before. They’ve realized they have a lot more in common with each other than they do with many other people in this world, and will never go back to what had been. Any such activities are done by splinter groups on both sides, with almost no popular support. As a Catholic I’m wary of the intermarriage; as a human I’d prefer it to the violence.
