Missouri reporting.
In the center of Missouri at Lake of the Ozarks in the center of the state
It reminds me of February 08 at Lake Tahoe at the height of snow season rather than the Lake of the Ozarks.
Three inches at 7 AM and at 12:39 we have about 14 to 16 inches depending on the spot I measure. It looks like my boat dock has a foot of snow across the whole roof and that is not what it was designed to carry.
The winds are now picking up to 30 mph and the snow will continue heavy for about five more hours. The 20 in projection may be low for here.
The local bird population is glad I am here today to give them a little fuel. The shoveling is fairly easy for the depth but the wind picking up is making it a 45 minute dose at the max for this old guy.
Just 50 miles south along I-44 they have a third the snow but ice/sleet of 1/2 underlaying it.
Keep checking in.
Thanks for your Missouri report. I think the predictions for everywhere were low, considering the size of the storm on the map!
Illinois:
Peoria area, started snowing about a half hour ago, white out conditions already.
Ottawa area: white out conditions.
Joliet area: just started snowing heavily.
Hang in there.
