“Didn’t you mean Gutless Order of Poltroons?”
Saw this on Hot Air, I think....whatever works best for ya’...just as long as everyone knows the party is gutless as it stands today...at least in my humble opinion.
You're underestimating the precarious position the GOP is in. One thing the Tea Party grassroots movement has done is expose many of the false conservatives for the elitists they are. Election after election the same promises made go unfulfilled. We always wondered why? Now we know. Their desire for a political career trumps their commitment to the US Constitution. Well, I'm here to tell you, the jig is up! They either do the job they're elected to do or they're gone! Many of those presumed to be presidential candidates are a part of the "elitist" crowd. If elected, they offer nothing in the way of real reform in Washington, DC, only more of the same.
I am in that camp.
I think you are correct. If Sarah moves toward a third party endorsement, it will be well in advance of the Republican primary.
It is hard for me to read all of the negativity toward this woman from the conservative camp, much of it on FR, when she was so instrumental in uniting Republicans and Independents in the common cause of putting the brakes on the rampant socialism that has over taken the country. If you look at character only, she should be lauded by both left and right as a tremendous inspiration and roll model for all of us. I only hope my daughters will gain a fraction the integrity and character that Sarah Palin brings to the table.
Oh ah yeah, that’s what it meant. *yawn*
Going “third party” is a guaranteed way to throw the election to Obama.
.
Sarah Palin will not go third party. She believes in the GOP even tho’ it doesn’t believe in her.
Her “negatives” are essentially imaginary, since they consist of those that wouldn’t vote GOP if their life depended on it.
.
>> “If Palin gets the nomination, I will definitely vote third party.” <<
.
That make you just a standard idiot noob.
Why are you here at FR, which has been declared by its owner to be “Palin Country?”
Why not just go home to GOP Elitist.org?
.
Just wait till Jim Rob sees how much better an alternative Jim DeMint will be.
There are more conservative candidates than Palin.
Bachmann, DeMint, Cain.
If people go third party, I ain’t voting at all and wasting my time.
Get used to Obozo.
>> “If Palin wins the requisite number of delegates, then she’ll be the nominee. If she doesn’t, she has no one to blame but herself” <<
.
And her arm chair followers...
What the GOP has not acknowledged is that the Tea Party movement is not made up of Republicans. After the election the GOP seems to think that the Republican Party won...it did not....the conservative candidates that were on the Republican ticket won. The Independents are really already the third party...and are willing to go to either party’s candidate that supports the Tea Party principles. I see it everytime in the smugness of Karl Rove’s face as he goes on and on about the Republicans....Conservatives won that election!!....not the RINO GOP old guard.
>> “Howd they get those numbers?” <<
.
They read them in their Charmin.
I hope you're not in marketing.
Cheers!
>> “It’d be interesting to see what would happen if we ended up with a DeMint/Cain ticket, or something like that.” <<
.
Interesting that you picked two single digit candidates, one that has openly declared that he is not running, and the other that has no qualifications whatsoever.
What is your agenda?
The clear choices are Palin who has revealed her entire platform already, Romney whose platform is made of old inner tubes, and Huck, whose platform is that every murderer that “finds Christ” should be set free.
Who else is there?
They ignore the fact she urged Stevens in a letter to vote for the LOST Treaty. They ignore the fact she appears to be soft on the gay agenda. They ignore the fact that she appears to be soft on amnesty too.
She could clear all that up, but she doesn’t. Wonder why?
They ignore the fact that she was never really a conservative until she stepped down in 2009.
If a person goes third party they at least need to make sure they are voting for a proven conservative. Not a person who talks the talk.
They especially need to remember the repercussions of resigning an elected office. Why would people trust that a person would not do that again?
The democrats will use that big time if she gets the nomination. People resign an elected office for severe illness or because they did something wrong. She has done neither but her explanation will not go over well. It sits okay with her conservative fans, but the indies and mods will not buy it.
the TEA party is in its infant stage. will it die out? will the GOP party co-opt it. Or will the GOp continue to fight it and give it strength in the conflict to dethrone it. There is nobody that knows that answer. will it die out like the Constitution party or will the TEA party form the new party like the GOP formed from the whigs.
The history is not yet written. And this poll says that the outcome is not clear. Without a TEA party backed candidate in the nomination fight the GOP will be very weak in 2012. the Gop party establishment pursues the destruction of gov Palin as a force at their own risk.
I am always encouraged when the supporters of Obama do not count me among their friends and supporters. But, November, 2012 is still far away, you have plenty of time to realize the errors of yours ways and come back to the fold.
In the meantime, I encourage you to work diligently for the conservative candidate of your choice. There’s plenty of time to be an Obama supporter after the primaries.
Palin is great for fund-raising and rallying groups of conservatives, but she as a presidential candidate...not so much.
