Actually, a gold bullet would be almost exactly the same as lead. However, nothing but an idiot would do that, remembering that even in an Egyptian style meltdown, the gold becomes very very useful after the gunfire stops.
At least thats been the pattern since the Babalonian era.
Buy lead in reasonable amounts, store a few months of food, (easy to do) And then the silver and gold.
Food does you no good without water.
You will need purified drinking water and water for hygiene.
