Freshman Republican Sen. Rand Paul is calling for deep cuts in foreign aid, including eliminating U.S. money for Israel, a plan that has drawn criticism from Democrats and Republicans.
The tea party-backed Paul unveiled a budget proposal this week that would slash overall government spending by $500 billion, saying the growing debt requires nothing less. It makes significant cuts in education, energy and defense while eliminating some agencies.

cutting everywhere not just Israel.
most arab-israel fights are only extended by the 3rd party broker, US.
then when the self-fulfilling prophecy comes true, one or both sides can blame us.
besides, what real interest to stop a fight if a referee will always intervene?
sometimes they just need to fight and see who wins and quit yelling , “mom, he hit me”.
IMHO,if you’re my friend and asking me for money knowing I’m broker than broke, you ain’t my friend.
We are broke. We have been playing Santa Claus to the world for 60 years. It has to end sometime. Why not now?

ALL foreign “aid” must go. Including to Israel. Too many times our “leaders” try to coerce Israel to act against her legitimate interests by tying strings to such aid. I am a STRONG supporter of Israel, but it is NOT a proper expenditure of taxpayers’ money to provide such aid to ANY nation, period.
If YOU feel a need to donate to Israel, by all means, have a ball. No tax money, though! I want ZERO tax dollars to go to fund the murder of the unborn OR foreign “aid”— among many other things. Senator Paul is on the mark!
How did the idea of not supporting Afgans in their fight against Al-Qaida turned out?
Sure, we saved some bucks, but the price of letting Al-Qaida to take over was pretty steep, I would say.
(Of course, Ryan had no problem with that)
Israel’s enemy is our enemy and if we fail to stand for Israel, one day we have to fight those fanatic ourselves. I rather see Israel standing there and defending itself, with our support.
Then by all means SUPPORT Israel. I do. Just DON’T try to do it with taxpayers’ dollars.
As it is, FedGov tries to stab Israel in the back every time she turns around. How good can THAT be?
