This should be an option whenever you rent a car. Just like getting a GPS in the car. It would save the hassle of flying with your own.
While I have a special appreciation for the fit of my personal carry weapon, being able to rent does have its attractions - when I fly some airlines, the ticket for my luggage costs more than mine.
Not sure how the insurance companies would work that out, though.
