My primary concern with Congresswoman Bachmanns (R-Minn.) speech was the timing of it relative to Chairman Paul Ryans (R-Wis.) official response to the Presidents State of the Union address. I felt at the time the proximity of her speech was too near Chairman Ryans official response. I have since learned that the timing of Congresswoman Bachmanns address was not simultaneous to Chairman Ryans official response. Congresswoman Bachmanns speech was never billed by her office as being the alternative to Chairman Ryans. Now understanding the true order of events, I would not have made the same comments to the media. All members of Congress points of view are valuable and contribute to the public dialogue that helps to drive the conservative message in the media. We need more people like Michele.

Well spoken. Let’s see some more retractions.
Out of everything to be concerned about, this guy chooses to take a stand to write about the threat of Bachmann’s speech?
What more needs to be said?
Even with the retraction says a lot.
*ping*
Feelin’ the TEA Party heat there, Chaffetz?
Surprised Chaffetz made the comments in the first place. He is usually a solid conservative. Good that he retracted.
Need him to beat Orrin Hatch in the Senate primary in 2012
A speech is “delivered”. Neither Obama nor Bachman nor Ryan “delivered” a speech. They all just read essays. A “speech” if properly delivered will be remembered not only for what was said, but how it was delivered. I saw no true fire or emotion in any of the speeches. I was bored to tears by all of them. They should have just published their essays in the paper and returned the American people to our regularly scheduled programming.
I heard a lot of criticism of Bachmann’s speech, all of it superficial just like this timing ridiculousness, like “she didn’t look at the camera, she’s so pathetic.”
Too late, Jason. The damage is done. How anyone could not know this is beyond me. Her speech was about ten minutes after Ryan's. Another case of: Ready! Fire! Aim!
You “always attack the Conservative”, ELECTED repubic liberal scum, lying sos, dim-lite hacks can kiss Mister LLS’s arse!
LLS
I like Jason but ALL Republicans need to THINK before they diss the other Republicans!!!
As with the Congressman (and the press), you go shooting your mouth off without knowing the facts.
Michele was looking at the Tea Party camera instead of the CNN camera. The Tea Party was whom she was addressing. the rest of us were just observers. You got one thing right about your comment ..... “Pathetic”
Dude, he wasn’t dissing Michele, he was dissing the camera comment.
Blah, blah, blah, blah.................
I don’t “like the timing.......”
Blah, blah, blah, blah........RINO ALERT!!
Jason,
Keep your mouth shut until your brain is engaged.
You’ll thank me many times into the future for the free advice.
How do these “shoot off their mouth” putzes get elected. This reactionary punk is supposed to have more gumption than a 2nd grade school kid.
Establishment Republicans are trying to keep all the good candidates out. Their pocketbooks feel threatened.
