Except that it's required by the Constitution....

He shall from time to time give to Congress information of the State of the Union and recommend to their Consideration such measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient. ”

Just publish their "essays" in the newspapers and return the rest of us to our regularly scheduled programs. The whole event was so boring, I couldn't watch more than a minute of any of the "speeches". All they did was just read from teleprompters. Zzzzzzzzzz
