First off, African is not a race and never has been. In the 60s the race of any black person was listed as Negro. I have been looking to find if it was ever used and have never found anything official on which it was used.

“African” was not on the list of races/ethnicities to choose from.

There is a standard that all states must follow. I guarentee there is not a continent used!
