This is good news, because if he is a successful governor he will become a far better candidate down the line.

Congress critters don't become the nominee of any party, they just don't.

Why? I’m perfectly content with him not running. It increases the likelihood of Bachmann and Demint doing so.

I agree, he’s only 52.
Also a strong potential VP candidate.

DeMint said something about “having too many dogs in the yard” already when stating he wouldn’t run, but I sure hope we can recruit him. The current field certainly looks bleak.

He had no chance. Only ONE House incumbent has ever been elected President, and that one (James Garfield, 1880) had also been elected Senator. Uh, also Garfield was assassinated.

My thought exactly. We need a conservative senator from Indiana.

Pence has plenty of time to run for pres., might as well work toward governor to add executive experience.

If Pence has any aspirations for a serious run for the White House, he has to run for Governor. It would be nice to ditch Lugar, but someone will develop to challenge him. Senators as Presidential candidates are also a disaster. Look at JFK, LBJ and the current loser. A Gov stint really show someone how they handle tough situations and manage a large economy. This is a good thing.

He is so satisfied with himself and the local inherited money people that gather around him. Of course I will always vote for Mike; a genuine all around good guy. But I also believe that Greg Garrison will be nearby to offer good counsel while Ol Mike stumbles around with his low IQ for support.

His talents will be on display for all to see as will his weaknesses with no place for him to hide.

No big deal, it’s just Indiana.

Exactomundo! He will be a much more viable candidate as a successful governor. Take note, the leftists and their whoredog media may try character assassination, like they die with Palin, Gringrich, etc.

You got that right. They always use character assassination against any conservative who is effective and poses a threat down the line.

This is a very smart move by Pence. He will be head and shoulders above every other presidential candidate in 2016 and beyond if he does well as Indiana governor.

If Mitch Daniels had any sense, he would be the one forcing Lugar to retire.

I think these guys are banking on Obama getting re-elected and gearing up for a 2016 run. But, they’ll have to wait till 2020 when Sarah takes 2012.
