A Charles Manson follower has been ordered to remain in prison after parole board officials rejected her claim she was a changed woman.
The two-member panel said the viciousness and notoriety of Patricia Krenwinkel's crimes outweighed her efforts at rehabilitation behind bars.
Krenwinkel, now 63, wept and apologised during the hearing, but officials said the deaths of seven people in the 1969 Tate-LaBianca murders 'remained relevant'.

At the trial she expressed no remorse at all and remained loyal to Manson.
During a 2004 parole hearing, when asked who she would place at the top of the list of people she has harmed, Krenwinkel responded, "Myself."
She seems to have no core and not much conscience. Perfect target for a spellbinder and cult.
They actually were sentenced to death but that was commuted automatically when the California Supreme Court invalidated their death penalty. I either had forgotten or didn't know that.
Whatever. She's right where she ought to be.
Exactly, but look how everyone flips out...If we don’t believe in rehabilitation, than why do we even try? I don’t believe she should get out, but I don’t think she’s going to kill again. I believe with the mercy of God, people do change.
Did I say anywhere I think she should get out of jail? No...But I do believe people change...why do we even try to rehabilitate people then?
We used to hang horse thieves. When we hanged them, it wasn't about the horses they stole. It was to discourage others from stealing horses.
Do YOU think she should ever see freedom in society for even one day?
Same here, but I wonder if there have been cutbacks.
She behaves well because she is in an environment where there is sure punishment if hse missteps. She wouldn’t beahve long I bet if she were let out to go on some rampage. She wouldn’t be able to handle freedom, she had a chance and messed it up and killed INNOCENT PEOPLE and in my view that should be more than enough to keep her in. Lots of people can change, but punishment is punishment.
I sometimes think that letting someone out on parole is akin ot playing God, forgiving and then releasing without full punishment being served. We assume we know the heart of those who are released and go figure, we let them go. As we are human, we are often wrong and more innocents suffer.
Krenwinkle does well in prison because hse has structure and she is also unable to get a razor and attack someone. It’s like Jared Loughner if he hadn’t been freely roaming about, I think that she thrives in prison because her insanity and murderous inclinations are kept under strict check. She has structure and she isn’t able to act out.
IOt would be so much better to NOT find out if hse would kill again. If she were let out and not lynched, then she would likely kill again or there would be endless risk to the public and endless temptation to her.
No. And that was not what I said, but of course, Freepers, as always, overreacted. WHAT I asked the OP is if she really believed that this woman would kill again if she were released...and that was all. I am getting a kick out of all the screeching going on.
I was referring to all the posts, not just yours.
yep...bleeding hearts is what I call them.
