MSNBC Senior Executive: ‘MSNBC Does Not Have A Political Agenda…We Tell The Truth’

In the world of cable news opinion media, its a rather well accepted axiom that Fox News primetime line up advances opinion that are from the right of center, and that MSNBC’s line up presents news and analysis from a left of center point of view. But according to a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter about the media’s ostensible obsession with Sarah Palin, not everyone seems to see the “opiniotainment” landscape in such binary terms. Bill Wolff, for example, claims that MSNBC is not “driven by politics.”

Writing for The Hollywood Reporter, Paul Bond reports:

MSNBC vp primetime programming Bill Wolff maintains that his network covers Palin because she’s newsworthy. Period. End of story.

“She’s powerful and important, even if all you measure her by is her ability to raise money,” he says. “She matters. Her blessing and her endorsement mean something.’

Wolff called it “nonsense” that MSNBC is driven by politics or even profits when it comes to how much airtime it devotes to Palin.

MSNBC could be the first Cable News Network to be committed to a mental health facility.

Those people are stupid and delirious

And then, on live TV, Bill Woolff’s own, personal pants burst in to flames and he ran screaming from the set.

Wonder what that Senior Executive thinks about Matthews calling Bachmann a “balloon head” last night.

They delude themselves. Seriously. I think some of them really believe their own line. Thing is, the truth can be easily manipulated to infer lies. Just look at how it was done with the AZ shooting.

What parts of the truth do they report. Do they tell you where the guy bought his clothes, his race, the car he drove, the color of his toilet in his home. These are all facts and can be reported as truth. Most are irrelevant.

But what if you have an ax to grind against Wal-Mart and China? Headline - Man, wearing shirt purchased at Wal-mart and manufactured, allegedly by starving orphans in a forced labor camp, shoots senator and bystanders.

Or even better: Man shoots Senator in district targeted by Sarah palin. Questions being investigated regarding the connection between his actions and the use of actual targets on a map of the state by the Palin organization. Difficult quiestons must be answered by the former governor regarding the possible incitement to action of the shooter.

The fact that they have to tell us they don’t have a political agenda and that they just tell the truth is telling.

I would think that in order to have a political agenda you would need some political savvy.
Therefore they have no political agenda.

Hey, wait a minute, PMSNBC... a while back you proudly proclaimed you were from now on going to lean forward.

As in progressive, which in turn is just another euphemism for COMMUNIST.

No agenda? Tell the truth? Hyeah... right.

Love that when Fox reports the facts, it’s painted as leaning right, while when MSNBC reports opinion, innuendo, and easily-disproven crap, that’s a representation of the left.

his network covers Palin because she’s newsworthy.

Can he be a little more specific about the word "covers"?

Sarah Palin has the intelligence to put a tool in her tool chest that most conservatives don't have. That tool is to challenge the media on their blatant incompetence and liberal slant.
