I’m surprised that the NFL hasn’t issued a mandate that the Steelers and Packers get cheerleaders. After all that’s how the Steelers got stuck with that ridiculous Steely McBeam mascot.

Having cheerleaders doesn't necessarily save a team from having a ridiculous mascot, case in point
