Thankfully the law here in GA aka stand your ground allows for self defense rather than submit to an ass kicking by a mob.

But the culture within which a person is raised very much affects the likelihood that they will commit crimes.
Culture cannot be ignored. We’ve been doing it for 40+ years, and look where it has gotten / is getting us. By the way, why is it getting warm, and what are we doing in this handbasket?

It’s also where I “named” the culture that was the problem and offended someone...
Self defense, and defense of others, is not murder, no matter how loudly you, and the prosecutors of states with idiot laws like NY, proclaim it.

Their weapons are their fists and their feet. They can easily kill a person with them. If you have ever seen a group attack on a person you would understand.
I'm guessing you have a disconnect between where you sit, safely ensconsed in your home, puppy at your feet and a warm fire in the fireplace, and the brutal reality of the street: It is full of violent people who will attack weaker individuals for any percieved slight or off glance. I am not a fighter or a brawler. I am physically weak compared to these adolescent mobs. Folks like me do not have the wherewithal to physicaly defend ourselves from vicious people or vicious mobs of people. A fist to the face, thrown as a casual afterthought of racial hatred, can easily result in the death of a person.
Also, you confuse homicide with murder. That is just plain ignorant and I invite you to read up on the differences between the two. Until then your comments will get little traction.
Mr. B, that was the point I was trying to make in my earlier post. It’s okay to blame a culture of crime but not blame a people. But it’s the people who commit the crime.

Black culture is a problem. A major one. It has been so for decades.
Blunt, plain-speaking and these days, COURAGEOUS, truth telling is the first, critical step in solution to a problem.
But you already know that, and better than most.

In the context of the comment, shooting would be self-defense against felonious assault -- the problem being that the assault occurred in an area where legally having a handgun is next to impossible. In a "Stand your ground" state, one would not need to drop the gun.
So does anyone with an ounce of a clue of wat is going on in this country.

A group of people do not need weapons in order to deliver a beat-down that can kill or maim their target.
In most states, use of deadly force is permitted to defend against a threat of death or serious injury.
John Edwards was right in one thing - There really are Two Americas.
One difference between the two:
One is heavily populated by people with homemade names.
The other America, not so much.
Which group is the most violent?
Which group is most likely to live off taxpayers?
Which group spends their time demanding more handouts?
Which group shows the least amount of respect for others?
Which group is over represented in the courts and prisons?
Which group can be relied on to vote almost 100% democrat?
