It's not like the GOP put up John McCain or Lindsay Graham to give the response. It's Paul Ryan. Budget chairman. About as conservative as you can get. I'd love to know what the Tea Party Express thinks Paul Ryan won't say that Michele Bachmann will? And I'd also like to know why the Tea Party Express thinks their views are not being heard by Paul Ryan? That he's not a strong voice for them in congress? According to ontheissues.org, Ryan is very conservative. I would think he'd be the perfect representation of the tea party.
I don’t think it is inappropriate...she is another voice in the mix. She likely will NOT be refuting Paul Ryan, but standing up against Obama.
Paul Ryan is an excellent choice—I respect him very much, but I don’t think Michelle’s opinions are to be dismissed either.
*ping*
Well....obviously the Democrats are afraid of Paul Ryan. In this article, he is already being referred to as the Democrats’ new “chew-toy.”

Again, both responses will be good. Both Michelle and Paul Ryan will elucidate the common sense of the conservative solution. And the more people hear it....the better.
Ryan is very conservative.
No, she doesn’t speak for the GOP...TRENT LOTT did when he derisively said “we have to immediately co-opt these people when they get here”. This is the same weasel that wormed around the country looking to apologize to every democrat for an offhand remark he made. I learned all I need to know about how “the GOP” feel about us Tea Party folks when that decrepit old a**hole made that statement.
Mrs Bachmann speaks for ME, and hundreds of thousands of other AMERICANS who are tired of business as usual, tired of “reaching across the aisle to our colleagues in the Democrat Party” AFTER we bitch-slapped them in an election...tired of back-room, last minute compromises that always wind up with US, the American People taking it in the rear end...back-room deals that only enrich those concerned and enhance their positions and personal power.
They play their DC games, cut their deals, “go along to get along” and WE wind up paying for it...with our livelihoods, our homes, our businesses, our hard-earned money, and sometimes our lives. Enough is enough.
Hundreds of thousands of Americans are tired of blue-blood elitists from both parties trying to tell us what we can and can’t own, carry for self-defense, sell, buy, eat, smoke, drink, where to stand, walk, talk, think, feel...
No, you’re right. Michelle Bachmann, Sarah Palin, and the rest of us other Tea Partiers don’t speak for the GOP.
But on every occasion that I’ve heard them speak, they speak for ME. And yes, we Tea Party folk DON’T speak “for the GOP”.
Yet.
But we will. Count on it. That started in November.
If the GOP “leadership” wants to be Demo-Lite, they can go to hell. Compromise is for the loser. We WON the election in November. And the damned GOP better realize that without the Tea Party, they’re going nowhere in the next election.
Nothing against Paul Ryan. He seems a decent enough gentleman. But he’s not a lightning rod (yet).
I realized many years ago that the Democrat party were turning into communist a**holes, and NOT a “loyal opposition” party. If the GOP wants to play nicey-nicey with people who are trying to cut our throats with a hideous ideological political system, then I’ll have no parts of them either, and will work day and night to actively oppose them and put Tea Party people into the leadership positions.
I want my country back. Whomever speaks FOR my country, against all enemies foreign and especially domestic at this point in time, is who I am for.
If Paul Ryan is that man, fine. If it is Michelle or Sarah, fine as well.
But we’re on the brink of National disaster here, right now, at this moment in history - and as far as I can tell, there’s only a few people playing Horatius at the Bridge - and they’re ALL Tea Party candidates.
I don't see any harm in the Tea Party getting their views out.
