WASHINGTON -- Two years after running against President Barack Obama, Senator John McCain says he sees a change.
Appearing on CBS' "Face the Nation," McCain expressed optimism that Obama will lead Democrats and Republicans to find common ground on key issues.

Asked if the push to repeal health care reform is a waste of time -- because Senate Democrats will block repeal and, should it pass, the president would veto it -- McCain said, "We need to have a vote on it because we promised the people we would. We campaigned that we would `repeal and replace'. We have to have a vote on repeal, so that everybody's on record whether they want to repeal. Then, I think, piece by piece, we go through -- quote -- replacing."
McCain said he believes that, this time around, Democrats are more willing to negotiate on specifics of the health care program.

At Obama's State of the Union address on Tuesday, McCain plans to sit with Sen. Tom Udall, a Democrat from New Mexico.
The Arizona Republican said he thinks having Democrats and Republicans sit together instead of dividing by parties is "a good idea."

Election 2008: A liberal running against a far left radical.
The radical one.
That’s the trouble with RINOs like McCain.
They think Obama has become a centrist.
He hasn’t.
He is only talking like one, not acting like one.
Obama is a lying liberal and will always be one.
This is actually a good thing. McCain is done on the national stage so this will smoke out other GOP senators who actually think they can come to terms with Communism. It will be the old game—Obama proposes a 100% spending increase and the McCain team will propose a 50% increase and they, along with the MSM, will call anyone who proposes a 0% spending increase or a cut an “extreme Right Wing” whatever.
Juan is hoping the media “think” shows will start inviting him on again.
McCain’s voices from Vietnam are talking to him. He needs to retire.
"butt smoocher will eventually wind up a rat"
"butt smoocher will eventually wind up a rat"
I don’t want John to die, but his retirement would be worth a FR holiday!
McCain, on the other hand, hasn't changed a bit...
He had a good speech regarding an innocent who was shot. Other than that what on earth has he done..? Exponentially increasing the deficit, incurring massive debt under which this country is drowning..zero job creation, health care snafu, one vacation after the next...short memory or what John Mc..?
This is NEWS?? Of course. The McCain we all knew is back. Just as Republicans were in a box in the prez election,
Arizona had no credible candidate to put up against him.
Why ANYONE in the GOP would be deferential to Obama, other than putting on a show, is beyond me.
All he and his cronies have done is pi$$ on every member of the Republican Party.
If I start hearing this stuff from Boner I'll be R E A L L Y worried.
He is so sad! John McCain the great political masochist.
Let’s have a friendly wager, Juan. I’ll bet you $xxx million that Obama won the 2008 Presidential election and you can bet me that you won . . . .
Not even Juan McCain is stupid enough to want to negotiate with a proven liar. Truth is, Juan is on Obama’s side . . . just like he was in the 2008 election.
Will somebody Please post a comic pic of Charlie Brown getting ready to kick a football held by Lucy. We have so many Charlie Browns in the Republican Party.
Thank you Arizona.... for giving this nation the gift that keeps on giving screwing....
