You don't get it. Allen lost because of his ridiculous groveling apology which made him look weak. The guy had no business running for re-election when there was reports he was going to declare a presidential run.

Not a very smart politician.

When you lose by .39% of the vote, virtually anything you did wrong can be called the reason why you lost. I’m not trying to pump him, but I think it’s a good thing for him to be in the mix. It certainly makes a lot more sense for him to be in the mix than it does for some of the guys who lost this time around. If you couldn’t win in this banner year for GOP candidates, then you just can’t win. It’s unlikely that there will be another year better for the GOP in our lifetime than the one we just had.

Exactly right. You needn’t have been cunning to explain that macaca means “pest”, and drop the issue. NO APOLOGIES! His reaction to the “scandal” is what cost this clueless one the race. That and voter fraud, which always benefits Dems a couple percentage points. Bob
