Looks like Rahm will have to fall back on a previous career to make ends meet.

I am curious. I suspect that Daley still holds the power to select his successor. Did the Appellate Court do what Daley wanted them to do, or did they actually decide it on points of law?
If Daley meant to undermine Rahm, as some speculated in the early days, wouldn’t he have done it with that first Chicago judge?
I suspect that Daley still tells Obama what to do, rather than the reverse.

Not true-they are using the same ruling MI is, in keeping me from claiming residency even though I own two houses there. I haven’t lived there for 5 years. 2 years ago a County Treasurer found out i was renting the homes and denied my Homestead Exemption, even though a friend is renting one of the houses and I am back there frequently.

No kidding, he isn’t a resident of Chicago. He hasn’t been for several years.
He will still try for a write-in candidacy and likely win with all the shenanigans that go on with Chicago politics.

This doesn’t matter, he doesn’t even need to be on the ballot. If certain “people” want him to be mayor, he WILL be mayor.

Um the law clearly states that you must be a resident of the city 1 full year before the election.
Maybe you didn’t know Rahm was living in DC. And working for Obama. In fact he amended his tax returns when he decided to run for Mayor to state that he was a fulltime resident of the city.
This court actually read the letter of the law and applied it.

This court actually read the letter of the law and applied it. Rahm broke both the letter AND the spirit of the law.
Now if we could see the same kind of thing happen with Obowma's BC...
To: SeekAndFind
Since these are State courts then it pays to remember that the judges are going to rule in favor of the pols who appointed them.

He will still try for a write-in candidacy It wouldn't matter. He's been found ineligible for the Office at all. A write in campaign would be a futile move. They wouldn't even count the votes.
