Frances Fox Piven has a history of flame-throwing. Shes better known as one-half of the infamous Cloward-Piven strategy, wherein she and her husband published a theory detailing how people could overwhelm the system, break the system, and then get higher, guaranteed income. From magic. Now that Pivens calls for violent revolution have landed her in the
spotlight (you thought I was going to say crosshairs, didnt you! You vitriolic person!) and the media is circling the wagons. The New York Times is concerned: On his daily radio and television shows, Glenn Beck has elevated once-obscure conservative thinkers onto best-seller lists.

I was thinking more along the lines of Led Zeppelin's "Gallows Pole" myself.
Same game they play with Soros. “He’s just a kindly old Jewish man facing the brutal antisemetic attacks from Glenn Beck”
Geez, that photo burned my eyes! What well did she come out of?
Gadzooks! It looks like Helen has competition for the title, `Ms SeaHaggie, 2011.’
Piven is just like any other old hippie- longing for the days of fire bombs, rocks and burning buildings. It was FUN! And none of that nasty ole’ “alternative” press to worry about.
If Piven cannot or will not defend what she has SAID, then she needs to shut the f@#$ up. She has said it and written it. Now live with it, you old hag.
OMG! He said...”circling the wagons”, which is a violent metaphor.
shhhhhhh, don’t say anthing regarding HT...someone may post a picture of her/it whatever the hell it is and gross us all out on a Monday.
There is at least one role in The Wizard of Oz that she wouldn't need makeup for.
The goodly professor Frances probably got three or four email death threats, and—with a little help from her friends—is making the most of them. She’s probably secretly over the moon that Glenn Beck has single-handedly plucked her off history’s ash heap.
The “Sex and the City” reference was more apropos than the author knows. I’ve seen some older photos of her and recent catty reminiscences by former comrades on Hillbuzz. It seems her behind the scenes nickname use to be “Fox”. She retained her looks well into middle age and had a proper “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf”-type “open marriage” with old Cloward like any proper lefty academic.
This is a victory for Beck. Many of the useful idiots of the left have never heard of her before his repeated efforts. Now, however distorted, it has blown through to the Times’ readership. Won’t a few google the name to find out more? Wonderful.
I know, I know. I checked her ouvre out on Amazon.com. She’s steadily published leftist “research” that is no doubt imposed on sociology 101 students in colleges throughout the land. She is to Sociology as “Distinguished Professor” and former terrorist Bill Ayres is to Ed Schools.
Molding little minds and living off the fat of the land.
We made the mistake of allowing the likes of she and Ayers slither back into the shadows in the 70s. Now they’re back and more dangerous than ever before.
The left just can’t make Glenn Beck go away no matter how hard they try. Oh, but Sloberman’s exit = loss of free speech. What nit-wits.
Only in the upside-down world of academe can that broad be deemed a fox!
Honestly, my hand jumped off the mouse in shock when her kisser popped up on my screen.
Google her and get a gander at the old photos. She enjoyed herself to the fullest back in the day.
