T. PETERSBURG - Three law enforcement officers were shot this morning a U.S. Marshal and two St. Petersburg police officers in the 3700 block of 28th Avenue South, police said.
A suspected gunman is barricaded in a home at 3726 28th St. S., and police are trying to negotiate with his family members. He is still shooting at police, officers said.
One of the injured officers had been in the home as well, but an armored vehicle knocked down the door and the officer was evacuated. That officer has been taken to Bayfront Medical Center.

ST. PETERSBURG - Hydra Lacy Jr., the man suspected of fatally shooting three law enforcement officers in St. Petersburg this morning, has a long criminal history, records show.
Lacy, 39, was arrested back in 1988 for grand theft auto, aggravated assault, and resisting arrest. He spent more than three years in prison.
Not long after his release, he was arrested on several charges, including sexual battery and kidnapping. He spent over 15 years behind bars for those crimes.
Since his release in 2008, he’s had arrests related to violation of probation and domestic disputes.
Lacy was registered as a sexual offender as a result of the 1992 arrest, but the latest update from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement lists him as “absconded,” or no longer living at the address he reported to authorities.
Lacy is the older brother of Jeff ‘Left Hook’ Lacy, the former two-time IBF super middleweight world champion.
The officers became the first killed during duty in St. Petersburg since 1980. Harmon said the wives of both were notified and “in shock.” One of the officers had children.
Police have not yet released the officers’ names.
Specifically, the ACLU was a guiding force in the movement.
The Marshall, who evidently went up into the attic first, and was the last rescued, is in stable condition, yet the two SPPD officers are dead. Wonder how that all went down.
Perp (Hydra Lacy Jr.) has long criminal history, including:
Convicted sex offender
Sexual Battery of a Child under the age of 12
False Imprisonment
Bayfront Medical Center in St. Pete is in critical need of O negative blood.
The first cop killed in my county is some 20 years was last fall.
A drunken career criminal was threatening his wife with a gun and when police entered his house the guy killed a rookie cop. Naturally the usual idiots blamed the police for not letting the perp just sleep it off. (He’s taking a dirt nap now)
SOB
Did you see this...I found it on BayNews9. It must have been when the SWAT team went in because the officers don’t look like they’re surprised.
I was surprised to hear Harmon say it was the first PD officer killed since 1980. I guess I was confusing SPPD deaths w/Tampa officers deaths.
No it’s not. Robberies and shootings happen all the time. The media is deliberately covering these local stories as national stories because their masters in the Democrat party have asked them to do so. The purpose is to support their push to advance the gun control agenda.
Pray for our LE officers. There appears to have been a ghetto declaration of war against them.
WFLA chopper is keeping distance from the scene. Doesn’t want to give strategic locations via airwaves. I see what you mean about LEO not flinching during gunfire.
One of the officers killed was a K-9 handler. Both of the slain officers married, one with children.
Lets see, just 4 days ago 2 cops were shot to death in Florida....
Sounds like a war zone.
I’m talking about recent cop shootings. Not just your every-day shooting.
What??
Just 4 days ago 2 copes were shot to death in Florida, and today, 3 more, one of which just died...
This *is* national news.
Not a peep from the perp in the past 1.5 hours. Hopefully, LEO is waiting for him to assume room temperature before entering the building.
This is just getting to be tooo much. We can wait no longer to pass new laws to strip law abiding citizens of their right to have firearms! /s
Hard to know if he’s dead or alive..I guess they’ve sent in some robots to check.
Just as with our military, our police officers have their hands tied. Then we wonder why criminals have no fear of them. Criminals however are a law unto themsleves, could care less about any laws...thus they continue on.
As I see it our Police need more freedom to pursue these thugs and just take them out.
Interesting info I found on the SPTimes site.
