I think the best bet is to go with the version which was given to Moses.
That’ll put us as close to “The Source” as possible.

Seems basically the same to me.

Dead Sea Scrolls?
What “originals” do you refer to?
And yes, absolutely, we should use as close to originals as possible, with a faithful translation meant to be understood by all people...
ooops, is that “Catholic Bashing”?

Actually, there is a marked difference.
The “Protestant” Big 10 has 4 “verticals” and 6 “horizontals”,
and the “Catholic” Big 10 has 3 “verticals” and 7 “horizontals”, leaving out “make no idols” and splitting “do not covet” into two commandments.

I'd call it "recognizing a particular set of beliefs". OK, so then you would not care which version of the 10 Commandments is posted right?

I don’t believe you would care which version either -
you’d oppose any reminder of
There is a God,
It isn’t you,
and He has a right to, and will, judge you according to His standards, not yours.

The message is the same or close enough to conclude that they are the same principles. Then what difference would it make to you what language or what version was posted?

And there is a world of difference between 'recognizing' something and establishing it as the law of the land. And what would that be?

youd oppose any reminder of I don't think it's the government's job to remind us. I don't think I'd like it to be the government's job to remind us.

The older the version, the closer to the original, the less problem I have with it. That would, I assume, be the Jewish version.

You are the one who misused the word ‘recognize’. It’s not my job to be your dictionary.

Then what difference would it make to you what language or what version was posted? That wasn't my argument. Nice try - Take your anti-Christian bigotry elsewhere.

Speaking of reminders:
FR Declaration
Conservatives consider displays of the Ten Commandments to be part of "Traditional American Values." W=Heck, we even consider school prayer to be part of "Traditional American Values." Even if we don't actively advocate for them, we at least don't subscribe to a liberal prohibitionist interpretation of the Establishment Clause.
Now that the mask has slipped, perhaps you would be better served by participating in one of the Liberal web forums elsewhere. I have it on good authority that there are fewer joooos posting there, and the ones that do are of the self-loathing variety.

“Tell the ACLU to bring their guns if they want to take them down again.”
Easy to say. Most of SW Virginia is poor. The ACLU would bankrupt them very quickly. I would hope that conservatives and Christian groups nationwide would support them if it comes to law suits.
It is some of the prettiest countryside you’ll ever see, tho. Quite literally “God’s Country.”

No, I think he meant literally “guns”,
not “big guns” meaning lawyers.
