Umlauts in German take some getting used to.

I was taught, “form your mouth to say `oh’ (or `oo’) but actually say `ee’”. Works, sort of.

Anyway, Cohen is a loudmouthed jerk who has just outgraysoned Grayson. What an accomplishment.

You explained the pronounciation exactly right.

As for Cohen, he’s no different than Goebbels himself as one FReeper mentioned upthread.

The problem is the oe is what we use to spell the umlat o of the German language. We simply don’t have that sound in our language so when we pronounce the oe it just comes out naturally with the r sound on the end.

Now, if you want to say it truely, without the “er” sound, say “ay” (like in say, day, ray, etc) while rounding your lips in an “o” sound.
