Romney just won the straw poll conducted amongst this group. However a lot of Romney’s favorability comes from him being a neighbor and name recognition from that aspect, imo.
Traditionally NH is a boots on the ground campaign state. They don’t like those that come in and hold a few big rallies and move on. They want the candidates to come in and mingle with them at small venues like coffee shops, festivals, etc. I think I remember reading that McCain spent as much as 50 weekends in NH in the two years leading up to the 08 primary.
I guess the questions becomes do any of the GOP hopefuls care to make that type committment in NH? If not then it may well be a crap shoot and based upon who we read about the most rather than meeting them personally and shaking their hand.
