The real results will be killing the owner operator business and more unemployment.

The real result will be killing American motorists!

....the US will insist that all Mexican trucks must meet US ENVIRONMENTAL REGS....when fines are imposed and ignored the US TAX PAYERS will upgrade the Mexican trucking industries to meet standards....
..feel better?

The first time a Mexican truck is cited....Mexico will be whining to the NAFTA Court (yes there is one...read the NAFTA bill). The NAFTA Court will side with Mexico....and all those trucks keep rolling....

Free Trade Statism, thru NAFTA and its rules, is killing America. The only solace will be a Mexican truck crushing the vehicle of a NAFTA Free Trader....oh what irony.

REFERENCE Congress cuts funding for Mexican trucks (Duncan Hunter Stops Funding Circa 2007)
WorldNetDaily.com | December 22, 2007 | Michael Howe
FR Posted on 12/22/2007 4:21:09 AM PST by Man50D

Congress has passed a bill that cuts funding for the controversial Mexican truck program, but lawmakers expect the Bush administration to keep the foreign vehicles rolling on American roads amid safety and security concerns. Joe Kasper, spokesman for Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., told WND that "without federal funding, it will be difficult to continue the program. However, we must expect that the administration will continue looking for ways to do so."

The newly passed 2008 Consolidated Appropriations Act prohibits the Department of Transportation from using the funds in it "to establish a cross-border motor carrier demonstration program to allow Mexico-domiciled motor carriers to operate beyond the commercial zones along the international border between the United States and Mexico." "In a Democratic-sponsored spending bill filled with rewards for special interests, this is actually one of the few beneficial provisions included in the bill," Kasper said. He points out Bush is expected to sign the bill.

Congressman Hunter introduced the first bill in Congress to stop the program from moving forward and never relented in his effort to ensure the safety of our roadways and that American security would not be threatened by an inundation of foreign motor carriers," Kasper said.

Ten Mexican carriers, with another 37 awaiting final approval, are now operating under the program. Four American carrier are allowed to drive on Mexican roads. Clayton Boyce, vice president of public affairs for the American Trucking Association said Congress "has clearly expressed its will on the issue, and we are waiting to see what the Department of Transportation's next step will be." "There are four U.S. trucking companies with 41 trucks in the cross-border program. If the demonstration program ends, there will be no U.S. trucks crossing the border," Boyce explained. The nafta agreement prohibits state dot from inspecting mexican trucks. Rush helped clintoon do this. The real results will be killing the owner operator business and more unemployment. But the american truckers should figure out that spike nails are cheap.

NAFTA is an absolute disaster. More proof that Free Trade is a failure.

Only a fool and an idiot will allow Mexican trucks to roam the US. Not only it takes away jobs from Americans....it means its easier for the Drug Cartels to ship drugs and illegals thru out America

Free Trade is treason

OH YES, Our Laws are ALWAYS Enforced! No Problem here!! Move along now.

Totally true, especially any laws related to trade and immigration, those are the most strictly enforced of all. And Big Sis says things have never been better. We've got Big Sis looking out for us.

As in “military strike”. If the Teamsters decide to act as they have in the past it will get very ugly, and for once I would support their actions. However, unions are so in step with Obama I’m not sure any of them will react to this. We are the authors or our own destruction.

First, the NWO came for the Manufacturing jobs.
Second, the NWO came for the Construction jobs.
Now the NWO comes (third) for the Trucking jobs.
The NWO people have the plan well underway?
If one still has a job, will the NWO come for you next?

This NWO reminds me of another time and place.

Right down the Mississippi River. That’s just great! Too bad the American Indians of the Plains could not hold the advance of the White man there. Just imagine that history?

When I built trailers for Mexican transport they had to have reinforced roofs since the gangs would tie several concreter blocks to a cable and drop it on the trailers from an overpass. The roof of the trailer would be ripped open and the driver would have to stop. While he sat helpless in the tractor the trailer would be emptied.

Plus having to pay “gratuities”.

This whole thing is just totally unacceptable. I am amazed that the teamsters union has not just freaked out. You would think they would be outraged that their drivers are going to lose work. I guess they got paid off.

It’s always odd how when another push to allow Mexican trucks into the US starts, we never get any summation of how many US trucks will operate in Mexico, or whether US owners want to go there. This is supposed to be a two way deal, but we only hear about the Mexican side of the trucking situation.

Do you think many US trucks are going into Mexico?

No. Official Mexican police uniforms are sold this side of the border legally. Whose to know who is flagging a driver over? And you can be sure that complaints by Americans aren’t going to matter too much.

With Barry in office? Is there a union boss not just about peeing his pants with excitement over his good fortune?
