LAGHMAN, Afghanistan (January 20, 2011 ) Soldiers from 1st and 2nd Companies, 1st Commando Kandak and Special Operations Task Force East killed approximately 13 insurgents in Ali Shang district, Laghman province Jan. 20.
The Afghan-led force received small-arms fire as they air assaulted into Mayl Valley to conduct clearing operations. The force requested support from an air weapons team that returned fire, killing an estimated 13 insurgents in three locations.
Capt. Andura and Capt. Sarbiland, the Afghan company commanders, and an U.S. Special Forces officer conducted a key-leader engagement with village elders from Parmawan and Kanday villages following the engagement.
Villager elders reported no civilian casualties or collateral damage.

Sounds like good news, but Vietnam taught us that body counts don’t necessarily lead to victory. Plus, the Madrassas in Pakistan just keep pumping out an infinite fresh supply of Talibunnies.
