In 2001 the wind chill formula was updated to increase the equivalent temperatures. The "Freezer Bowl" AFC Championship game in 1982 went from -59°F wind chill up to the balmy -37°F after recalculation.

that is something I didn’t know, but does not surprise me, now days, when it gets a bit below zero, they close the schools or do a late start
