Sometimes things said in jest or lightly take on different meanings later. Buddy Holly told Waylon Jennings that he hoped he'd freeze on the bus and Waylon told Buddy he hoped his airplane crashed. Eight hours later Buddy was dead. This haunted Waylon the rest of his life.

A friend of mine told another that it'd be a quicker death by just taking a gun and shooting himself than it'd be taking the drugs he was taking...four hours later the person was dead with a self inflicted gunshot wound to the head. This guy has to live with this the rest of his life...not his fault but nevertheless the guilt is there.

Some things just happen that way. Once I told a young fellow at the plant where I worked that he had better watch out. He was bragging about how fast his new Chevy would run. I told him that one day he would be scraped off the side of a big Oak tree if he didn’t stop trying to see how fast his car would run. What happened? I am sure I don’t have to tell you.
