Foreign frickin aid!!
You’re right. Thanks........:)

Hey, that must be why the 1 yr old dryer we inherited from my FIL last year takes TWICE as long to dry clothes as our previous 17 yr old one.
Because, of course, if the heating element only gets half as hot, people will only dry their clothes halfway. *snort*
One could eliminate all discretionary spending with the exception of Defense and we would STILL be running a $400B deficit. That is how big the problem is.
To go much deeper we have to start working on “entitlements” - that’s NOT going to happen overnight no matter what. The best conservative in the world still understands reality, and while we on FR like to shout from the rooftops that we should cut the budget 100%, it has to be done correctly.
I would, however, like to see something specific on further reductions to at least inflation-adjusted Clinton-era levels within a few years or something like that.
Cut the D of E, but make sure it’s explained by showing how education was BETTER before it existed, and how it’s a STATE RESPONSIBILITY (or local), not Federal, and that if your schools suck, it’s your state’s fault.
I hate it when the Dems engage in deception with “10 year” projections and I equally hate it when the GOP does the same thing. Americans need to know how much spending the GOP House intends to authorize for the next fiscal year. Anything beyond that is smoke and mirrors. The US has had a trillion dollar+ deficit for two consecutive years. The number for 2011-12 will be the clearest indication of whether the GOP has received the message from the voters.
It’s a complete sham. this will reduce our current deficit of 1.5 Trillion to 1.25 Trillion per year. We have a 14 Trillion plus debt. After 10 years, we will have added another 12.5 Trillion to that debt.
It’s not serious, and it won’t do anything. We must stop budget deficits immediately.
I have a high efficiency washing machine, it is HORRIBLE!!! You have to do very small loads and wash on the longest cycle for the clothes to get remotely clean. I don’t see how it saves any energy when I have to do triple the amount of loads at 60 minutes run time each.
Getting clothes clean is no longer a high priority. In fact, many indigenous peoples don’t wear any clothes. Think of the energy savings! Maybe you can buy some CCO’s (Clean Clothes Offsets) from them, in order to continue using your elitist luxury items.
If the national endowments for the arts and the humanities, the legal services administration, Americorps, Job Corps, and Corporation for Public Broadcasting funding still remain, it’s a poor start in my opinion. The time to DEFUND the Left in this country has begun, let’s do it.
“I dont understand why the GOP is not going for cutting back to Clinton era spending levels. It would be fun to listen to the Democrats argue about that since they like to argue that those were the best of times, before Bush screwed everything up!”
That is one heck of an idea, no joke. Is anybody in the GOP listening? I’d like to hear the reason(s) why this can’t be done, other than a lack of cajones.
YouCut http://www.majorityleader.gov/YouCut a website where the American people can vote, both online and on your cell phone, on spending cuts that you want to see the House enact.
BATF, Education, EPA....I will think of more, I’m sure.
1) BATF: $1.12 BILLION.
2) AFDC: $??? near as I can tell, several billion dollars per state.
3) EPA: $10 Billion, plus FTE personnel costs.
They should not be allowed to project numbers out like that. They should only be allowed to project out what will happen during the two year course of their term. After that it is out of their hands and in the hands of the next congress. So, does this mean a $500 billion cut over the next two years? Or is it rigged so that if no future congress touches it, most of the benefit will be realized in years 9-10? So sick of the deceptions and half-truths.
im so proud of Jim Jordan, my congressman, and can honestly say i knew him when
DITTO, griswold!
Jim Jordan is the real deal. He's as solid a conservative as is in the House, and he's committed to cutting spending and upholding conservative principles across the board.
I just about burst with pride when Rush spent a segment on what Jordan is doing here......fulfilling a promise to the American people.
It is a GREAT thing that he is spearheading this effort and working with DeMint in the Senate.
