MEXICO CITY US giant General Motors will invest $540 million to produce two low-emission motors in central Mexico, the company announced here Thursday, accompanied by President Felipe Calderon. Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Even GN can’t afford Obama’s UNION WORKERS!
What does OBAMA have to say about THIS?
Meant to say GM not “GN”.
Is the UAW in Mexico yet?
Can I say this pisses me off and not be called uncivil ?
Toyota built a Truck plant in San Antonio a couple years ago and its been very successful. Could they not have pointed there site search about 200 miles north?
I guess next time I want to buy American - it’ll have to be Toyota.
This is not bad. I saw more American Cars in Mexico than I do in California. This will be good for the Mexican economy and we will benefit from this. GM also builds many cars and car parts in Canada. There are also more American (Big 3) cars on the road in Canada than California (at least on percentage basis). At least that’s what I saw in the parts of Canada and Mexico that I visited.
So, UAW union owned GM is shipping production to Mexico to evade the high labor costs of the UAW union work force!
Obama said he would focus on job creation “like a laser”.
We didn’t know he meant jobs in China and Mexico.
How much are Mexican taxpayers due to lose on this whole GM deal?
That's because they were originally stolen from Americans.
The police told a friend of mine whose Chevy truck was stolen that before he even realized it was gone, it was across the border.
The plan to redistribute our wealth means globally. The same with oil drilling, sharing our technology, NASA.... Make USA “just another country”
“I guess next time I want to buy American - itll have to be Toyota.”
Or Honda, Mercedes, BMW, Nissan, etc.
Crxp!
Not too bad...After all the U.S. still has the PayDay Loan franchise and Rent-a-Centers.
Taxpayer money to invest in foreign manufacturing of products designed for the US market.
GM can keep investing all it wants in Mexico.
A GM supplier told me some time ago that GM cannot keep employees down there.
They have NO work ethic & after getting a couple of paychecks—they don’t show up any more. Sometimes they try to semd ‘a cousin’ instead to do the job, without proper hiring practices.
GM needs to re-think any more expenditures in Mexico. Canada will do a better job & I personally would NOT buy an engine that was built in Mexico.
Our government-owned car company, sending US taxpayer capital out of the country.
Golly, why am I not surprised?
“I guess next time I want to buy American - itll have to be Toyota.”
You can also buy a Honda built by American people in Ohio.
Hows that feel union?
