Hawaii governor claims record of Obama's birth 'exists' but can't produce the vital document

Pressure was mounting on Hawaii Governor Neil Abercrombie today amid increasing confusion over whether President Obama was born there. Abercrombie said on Tuesday that an investigation had unearthed papers proving Obama was born in Hawaii in 1961. He told Honolulu's Star-Advertiser: 'It actually exists in the archives, written down,' he said. But it became apparent that what had been discovered was an unspecified listing or notation of Obama's birth that someone had made in the state archives and not a birth certificate. And in the same interview Abercrombie suggested that a long-form, hospital-generated birth certificate for Barack Obama may not exist within the vital records maintained by the Hawaii Department of Health. He said efforts were still being made to track down definitive vital records that would prove Obama was born in Hawaii. Abercrombie was asked: 'You stirred up quite a controversy with your comments regarding birthers and your plan to release more information regarding President Barack Obama's birth certificate. How is that coming?' He acknowledged the birth certificate issue would have 'political implications' for the next presidential election 'that we simply cannot have'. President Obama on a visit to Hickam Air Force Base in Honolulu in December. The issue of trying to prove he was born in Hawaii rumbles on 'It's a matter of principle with me,' the 72-year-old said. 'I knew his mum and dad. I was here when he was born. Anybody who wants to ask a question honestly could have had their answer already.' Birthers insist Obama, born in 1961, is not eligible to be commander in chief. The reasons often vary, and have changed and expanded in the two years since the Internet rumour began.

We tried to obtain a copy of Obama’s birth certificate, but his campaign would not release it and the state of Hawaii does not make such records public.

It's an obvious fake. It's made from the below redacted image that appeared in this web article:

And that redacted image was, in turn, made from this blogger's old birth certificate.

There are marks in several boxes that establish this chain, but the most significant ones are in boxes 19a and 21.

Frankly, the document's lack of authenticity should be obvious from the typesetting alone. Typewriters don't haphazardly change their vertical positioning when filling out a form from left to right. But Obama's name, birthdate, and the statute reference at bottom are all over the place.

Personally, I think Abercrombie shot off his mouth without having a clue about the facts. He had no idea there was an issue—a huge one—with BO’s BC. I have thought this from the beginning. Mr. Aging Commie-Toker envisioned himself as a hero/giant-slayer. He, the great Abercrombie, would once and for all dispel the ‘birther’ myth, to the shame of those who have been asking only basic, reasonable questions, and to the everlasting gratitude of The One. It’s the kind of pipe dream he thought would earn him a place in history: the man who slew the ‘birther’ conspiracies, and paved the way for a triumphal Obama second term.

It blew up in his face. He’s come off sounding like a babbling ignoramus, and he’s opened Obama up to slews of escalating questions and ever-intensifying pressures.

Thank you, Abercrombie: you and your hippo mouth did for us what the knee-pad weasels in the MSM refused to do. You go, Gov—keep it up.

If Hawaii had something that would put a stake in the heart of the birther thing, Katie Couric would have used it on national TV to show what a bunch of xenophobic assholes we conservatives are.

Some truths are more equal than others. Those that have political implications, well, they get governors and high-priced lawyers to do their talking for them.

But really, Manly, how is it all the "birther" accusers get a media Free Pass as they turn the burden of proof onto those who question Barry Soetero's eligibility to be POTUS? No one else breathing air within Old Glory's confines is presumed to be a US citizen--let alone "natural born"--without proof.

By what contortion do Barry's apologists get away with standing that axiom on its head in attempting to cast the burden onto Barry's eligibility doubters to be required to cough up with proof of just whose citizen Barry might be, when it is he, who has had the authority to seal such records via Executive Order. Producing many related documents might well be ipso facto deemed a crime. Aren't Barry, his lawyers and media apologists just so ethical, honest and transparent (--NOT) in their attacks on those wascawy "birthers"?
