I mis-characterized the questions Jim Geraghty was trying to get to in his article that seems to be the start of the focus on birth certificates.

a) Born in Kenya
b) Middle name is Mohammad
c) Name on document is Barry

I just checked and Madelyn Dunham does show up in the death index. It says the info was verified via the death certificate. Go to the site and just put in her name. You don't have to have the SSN either.
