I once met Skynyrd’s pianist Billy Powell at a party in Nashville. He was a graduate of Julliard, (which he tried to hide mightily hehe), and possessed an awesome technique. He told me he once played the Brahms Second Concerto, and anyone who can successfully plow through that turgid and sprawling piece of overgrown chamber-music has my props.
