(Snip) People on the left hate Palin for one simple reason: because she is everything they are not. She is their polar opposite because her life journey has diverged from the prescribed liberal path.

Palin was raised to be self-sufficient and independent since "idle hands are the devil's tools." Little Sarah was up at the crack of dawn, hunting with her dad; in sharp contrast, liberal kids like me were still fast asleep.

Palin didn't have life handed to her on a silver platter, like so many in the ruling class. Instead, Sarah balanced school, chores, jobs, and sports. While liberal girls like me were glued to the boob tube, Sarah had no time for sloth.

Palin attended church with her family on Sundays. On Sunday morning, young liberals like me were recovering from Saturday night.

Holbrook, L.I.: I agree with Voicer Diane R. Kline: Sarah Palin is self-absorbed and ignorant. I gather she feels that killing bears and moose will make her appear powerful, and that others will fear her. However, animals actually have more social responsibility than Palin: They do not kill one another in the name of sports, politics or religion.

Manhattan: What a different expression Sarah Palin wears when she is complaining about “blood libel.” Certainly not the same happy face as when she is shooting innocent animals on her self-serving reality show. And why do conservative journalists like Sean Hannity still insist on calling her a governor, when she is no longer one?

Brooklyn: The instigator of the awful massacre in Arizona clearly was Sarah Palin, who obviously has no more sense of social responsibility than the animals she hunts. The very idea of portraying anyone as a target in the cross hairs of a gunsight is irresponsible idiocy. Caveat voters!

None of these moonbats complaining about “crosshairs” have ever looked through a telescopic sight or they would know that the symbols on that map do not represent a gunsight.

And despite all the wailing and crying, Palin NEVER published a photo or representation of anyone “as a target in the cross hairs of a gunsight”.

What is driving the Left’s hatred of Sarah Palin? Some of the same stuff that often drove some of the same people to similarly hate young George Bush, their perception of an apparently-unearned boost to national prominence and a frequent-enough display of an inner (over?)confident self-assurance that, to many, seems to border quite closely on smugness.

And yet, when Barack Obama’s rise is shown to fit nearly the same mold, the rabid Left applauds. Odd.

Eh, I thought it was because a lot of people see Palin as aspirational. She's pretty, has a great family, is liked by others, is a winner, loves her kids, supported by her husband, plays a traditional wives role but still has an incredible career.

The ONLY thing she doesn't share is their politics and it drives them crazy. So she must be stupid.

Liberals love to be around other liberals because they reinforce each other's perversions making it ok, or so they think. But try as they may to lie to themselves, when they see goodness personified, as with Palin, they recoil in terror because her mere existence drags them back to the reality that hell exists and that they will be judged, and that they also know that they will have no say in the matter.
So the only thing they can do is bare their filthy gnashing mandibles and attack like the rabid scum that they are, hurling wild nonsensical accusations like mentally diseased adult children.
In short, when they see people like Palin, they are forced to smell the rancidness of their own souls...they are The Loughner Left

Robyn describes herself as a recovering liberal, and it soulds like she has accomplished it. She still lives in Berkley too!

That’s kind of what the article says. Except Robin puts it more in light of Sarah having accomplished that outside of the progressive track, and even perhaps having a bit help from the Man upstairs.

Oh hogwash.

Palin is hated for the same reason every popular conservative is hated....throwing darts at the enemy makes your commentary popular with your base....therefore making you more money.

It has always worked that way, always will, and conservatives do the same thing. Just plug in anti-liberal phrases, and any one of a hundred conservative pundits will mouth it.

Can't expect anything different, just have to ignore it and do your job as you see fit.

I don't want to get too preachy, but if the world is not hating or attacking us, we are not being what God commands us to be. To me it is a badge of honor to be hated by those who hate God. It's also our right to defend ourselves just as did the great many “warriors” of the faith. Oops, was that vitriol? This is exactly was Madam President has done. God bless her and her family.
