Our veterans are in tents in zero degree weather. Why are they insisting that they need licensed social workers. Is it because they in a union?

...if you’ve ever volunteered down at the men’s shelter or Salvation Army or de-tox, you know that there are some men that deliberately choose that way to live...time was, they called them hobos...and they stayed down in hobo jungles or shanty towns...IMHO they’ll always be with us....back in the early 60s I worked as a harvest hand and hopped freights...I knew guys who had been living that way since the Depression...some guys just WANT to be left alone.

And just because they say they are veterans is no sign they are.

If you watch the video it’s not about the regular homeless people who want to stay on the street. These veterans want help but can’t get it because apparently there aren’t enough social workers. All a Social Worker does is to refer people to other agencies. Anyone can do it - I’ve done it in the past. Get the veterans information, call the agency in charge, fax the information and get the men a warm roof over their head. There are multi-millions of government aka taxpayer dollars waiting to help them.

Amen, a good number of homeless folks who are purportedly veterans can only give you a blank stare when you ask what their MOS was.

In America, after everything else, our military veterans come first.

But, don’t worry............. we “never forget”.
