To: Jim Robinson

In a similar vein, I wonder about the usefulness of religious caucus threads. All they do is present a single view, in most cases held by a minority, in a format that precludes discussion. My religion defines me. Shouldn’t we rather be discussing and acting on issues rather than illustrating our differences outside of the political?

I’m pretty sure it’s a necessary evil to keep that stuff out of the main News/Activism forum. Even with the separate forum, that stuff takes over unrelated or tenuously-related threads in News/Activism from time to time.
