One California city has already defaulted on a bond payment this year. A few hours away, a second city is in the final throes of a fight against bankruptcy.
Mammoth Lakes has appealed to the California Supreme Court to overturn a ruling that the ski town owes $30 million to a local developer, according to The Bond Buyer. The Superior Court ruling was upheld by an appelate court on Dec. 30.

Aint is interesting that most - if not all - of these cities reside in “Liberal Land” or are “Socialist” paradises in and of themselves.
=8-)
$30,000,000? yikes...
It's Fer The Chilren!
Thanks.
That's only $4,000 for every man, woman and child in the town.
What's the big deal? Just raise taxes.../s

Problem is that a quarter of the population is non-tax paying illegals working in restaurants, another quarter are seasonal, ski bum type workers and many Liberal out of town skier condo owners.
And give the rest $1,000 each to pay their share.
/liberal response.
Seize the greedy business owners businesses and assets, then prosecute them...
Oh that's right, business owners are protected when hiring illegals, as long as they keep the campaign contributions going to the Republican and Democrat party insiders.
The eastern Sierras (where Mammoth is) and most of California that is not the heavily-populated coastal strip are conservative. The Bay Area and Los Angeles County are heavily populated/ very liberal. That is, of course, where the IDIOTS are.
All these celebs admit they are in that filthy rich range and would gladly pay a little more in taxes for Health Care etc. You've heard the lingo. In fact, not long ago, Jay Leno said it was alright with him that he should pay more..sooooooooooooooo you get to the phone banks and make some calls to these people and bet you could come up with a good part of the money by the end of the day..they look good, they save California, ratings go up..Life Is Good!
