Just went to Joe's website and wrote him the following:

Dear Sen. Lieberman.
I'm sure I won't be the first to congratulate you on not seeking re-election, but I want to add my congratulations. Your leaving is probably the best thing you could do for this country; you will not be missed.

I’d ratehr a liberal dem take the seat than rely on a confused lackey p.o.s. like Lieberman,.

Least you can rely on what you have instead of a rino pos like him.

One thing you can say about Lieberman is that he is no RINO.

To: Jerrybob; All

Dear freeper Jerrybob,

I’m sure not every freeper supported me, but I wanted to let you know I was able to wreak havok on this nation for the last six years because many so-called “conservatives”, including those who post on FR, helped me win re-election.

There was a number of freepers who not only endorsed me, but donated money to me and campaigned for me instead of helping solid conservatives in tight races. Their support was probably the best thing that could have happened to the Democrat Party in 2006, Democrats could not have taken control of the Senate if it weren’t for “conservatives” helping to elect me at the expense of George Allen, Jim Talent, and Conrad Burns.

Their reasoning of course, was that I agreed with them on the war on terror and that was “the most important issue”, so they didn’t care that I despise conservatives, vote far-left 90% of the time, and was hand-picked to be Al Gore’s running.

Seems freepers willing to support liberals because of one issue are just as foolish as those willing to purge fellow conservatives because of one issue.

Food for thought.

Very Sincerely Yours,

Sen. Joe Lieberman

All of McCain’s best buddies and cosponsors of major liberal legislation will soon be gone: McCain/Feingold, McCain/Kennedy and McCain/Lieberman.

LIEberman is no RINO, but he is an IINO (Independent In Name Only). The "conscience of the Senate" always loses his conscience to whatever the Democrat caucus tells him to do.

He's not a RINO but he surrounds himself with the likes of Collins, Snowe, Brown, McCain, etc.

Actually Lieberman during the run-up to the 2008 elections was a Rat I could have looked at as an alternative to hillary and zero..... Old Joe for most of his time in the Senate wasn’t as bad as most folks here on FR will say.....of course if Jesus Christ himself were to run as an independent the folks on FR would dump on him. That is of course until the Catholics hung him up on a cross..... BTW...I hate ignorant dumbcrats....

Yeah, I’ll bet they’re so “relieved” to have to defend a seat they shouldn’t have to defend.

NO - get somebody who can win, even if it means that person might not always agree with you. WE NEED THE MAJORITY.

Donning my flame-proof undies, I'll offer a weak defense of Lieberman. I freely yield that Lieberman is a Dem, and accordingly (usually) votes Dem. No surprise.

However, unless I mis-remember here, and to Lieberman's credit, he has supported the US troops in the middle east, and their mission (at least to a higher degree than most Dems.)

I wonder if Liberman might view his Dem comrades "progressing" too far left.

Just some "off-the-top" thoughts; corrections welcome.
