Thank Joshua Green of the Atlantic, who recently profiled Cain, for digging this up. Im not sure if the clip was considered lost, exactly, but Id never seen it before and a quickie YouTube search of herman cain bill clinton reveals nothing on point until Green uploaded this yesterday. He writes, If this video goes viral among conservative activists, Cains candidacy will be even more interesting to watch. Lets see what we can do about that.
This takes awhile to get hopping but stick with it for his rebuttal to Clinton at around five minutes in. Youre not watching for fireworks here the two are perfectly polite and, really, youre not even watching for the economic substance of their dispute about payroll costs and health insurance. This clip will end up being used by Cains campaign as evidence of his foresight and his conservative authenticity, with Romney the prime target of the contrast. I dont see Cain raising his profile enough to make a real dent in the field, but having this ad in rotation will only brighten the spotlight on Mitts record by implication. Tough stuff, Romneyites!

Black and Female Republicans have spunk. The rest.......
Boy that Clinton sure could shuck and jive.
Amazing how he tap-danced around the answer, throwing out numbers that Mr. Cain blew out of the water. All the while, the minions in his audience applaud his greatness.
What an idiot.
And I'm sure he did that intentionally. It didn't matter what Cain argued. Cain was a prop. Clinton used Cain and the others as props. The audience didn't follow the specifics. They just thought "He sounds like he knows what he's talking about." Slick Willie. The boy had talent.
