White House 'open' to GOP suggestions to improve health law
Washington Post ^ | January 18, 2011 | By Perry Bacon Jr.

The White House is continuing what it started after the November elections: a determined effort to reach out to congressional Republicans and reduce the partisan divide in Washington.

As House Republicans prepare this week to hold a vote to repeal the health-care law that President Obama signed last year, the administration says it opposes that idea but is "open" to Republican suggestions to improve the provision. That is a marked shift from last year, when the president and congressional Democrats repeatedly blasted the GOP for not backing the law and cast as them as uncaring of the millions who would gain health insurance under it.

White House 'open' to GOP suggestions to improve health law

They weren't open to any ideas when they had big majorities in the House and Senate. This is nothing but a ploy to toss Republicans with a few crumbs until it can be said that it's now a bipartisan bill, with Republican ownership in parts of it.

Kill the law and then replace with something that works!!! Obama, in reality is toast, no matter what the media rants. And....honestly, if the Democrat Party has any brains (it does not) they would force him to resign right now and if he refuses, they should impeach him. Obama is not going to be re-elected and....if the Democrat Party sticks with him, they will go down big time. Oh, by the way, I would bluntly suggest that any Democrat House member that values his or hers re-election chances in 2012, vote to repeal Obamacare!!!

In other words, set the Republican’ts up with everything to blame for the coming economic disaster. Bush's fault will now become “Those darned Republicans, the party of NO.”)

And things are so bad because they refused help. The media will hammer this into the puny brains of the mass population, fixated on their televisions and facebook accounts, 24/7.

Thanks for posting. I just called all my Congresscritters and encouraged them to vote for repeal. I live in Pa and it’s sure great to be able to call Sen. Pat Toomey instead of that pos Specter.

Yep, let’s not get rope a doped, as soon as amendments are made they will place the clause which then allows certain portions to be stricken without declaring the whole bill dead, that will get them out of the legal problems they are having now..

Kill it, hack it, destroy it, beat it, use a machete or a nuke, we won’t mind..

I seem to remember a meeting Mr Barky Obama had with the GOP on TV prior to a passage of this bill to share ideas.

Obama wasn’t interested then.

So, kill the bill. We aren’t interested now.

How uncivil of us.

There is no Compromise on this Monstrosity! There are 100,000 pages of regulations in this Pig,you cant take out a Gnat and say this is Compromise, the STRUCTURE of this Bill is the Problem and the Democrats want it more than they want MONEY! This is their Path to EVERY aspect of OUR lives and they will not relinquish it. The Republicans need to Bring it to the Level of the common Man,and Make People realize this is going to lead to their Death in some cases, for Crying out loud one of Obamas people wants to mold our Health care into Englands, which is RIGHT NOW as we speak CHANGING their system to Get THIS,Give DOCTORS more control of their relationship with Patients,I kid you not, it was on The News Yesterday, and I have not heard 1 Republican use this to Smack the Democrats in the face!
There is so much to fight with, this should be a No Brainer but we are aligned with LOOSERS!!

There is a Reason Pelosi said we have to pass it to find out what is in it,because they passed the STRUCTURE for this Bill not Specifics, they are putting in all the Regulations Now,This is going to be Like the EPA where they just make Pronouncements and they have the Force of Law and we The people have no recourse,THAT is what needs to be Emphasized over and over,Thousands of pages of regulations and Rules from the Government to your Doctor and you are nothing but a Number. Forget the CBO and all that crap, its your LIFE and LIBERTY that is being stolen from you.
What the Hell is so hard to Understand about that.
Where is the Leader who is willing to Articulate that ?

Improve it? Sure!

1. Drive a stake through its heart.
2. Cut off its head.
3. Stuff its mouth full of garlic.
4. Soak the entire wretched corpse in holy water.
5. Bury it under a hundred tons of concrete in hallowed ground at the stroke of midnight on All Saints Eve.
6. Seal the crypt with a cross and post the archangel Michael at the door.

The only reason the Dems are reaching out is because they are terrified Deathcare is going to be repealed and stake driven in its heart.
